In the mid 21st Century, an old man, Vincent, relives a mysterious love triangle from his past, seen entirely in footage from The Archive, a secret repository of surveillance video, satellite imagery and similar information files going back a century, housed in a strange facility in Manhattan. Why did his girlfriend Ana disappear back in 2012? Was she in love with their friend Cliff? What were the circumstances surrounding Cliff’s tragic death, and was Vincent responsible? The Archive computer has assembled a “rough cut” of their lives during that period, which Vincent obsessively watches and rearranges through a voice-command system, trying to understand whether Ana ever really loved him and what went wrong.
